Carnival of Rock and Roll–November 2010

Carnival of Rock and Roll–November 2010
Alright, finally time to put together another Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll. There has been plenty of submissions, a few that seemed pretty hilariously cynical (who am I to judge, but unfortunately not exactly on topic) and lots to weed out actually from two months worth of stuff... still more than few that were pretty cool... so here we go.

First off we from Nine over at Abyssinia Henry we have a post that might at first not seem explicitly about music, but I enjoyed it because I think it speaks very personally about how music can effect us, albeit not in the most immediate way: Turbulence and Missed Connections

Corrine Smith sent along a look at their pick for the: 10 Must-See Music Festivals in the Fall

Now here's something really cool from IGORoamandreport: A photo essay of a particular tour I got to see as well, and was also floored by... the pictures are pretty sweet and can give you at least a little hint at just how epic these performances were: Photo Essay - Attending Roger Waters' "The Wall" tour: A must-see event!

We've got a couple of posts sent in by Jamil from Good News Weekly: One on a concert of unsigned acts, and another on the King himself, complete with video.

1) Peak Performance Project Review

2) November 1 - Elvis hits #1 again with "Suspicious Minds"

Jay from Redd Granite passed along a cool review of one of the harder rocking tours in recent times, sounds like it was pretty sweet: Uproar Tour Review: A Kick in the Ass

And to switch gears to something lighter, Jesse from The (2nd) Greatest Generation sent in a pretty cool review of a band I had not heard before, but sounds pretty unique to say the least: Agent Ribbons: Post-Feminist Poster Children | The (2nd) Greatest Generation

Here's another cool video from Joe over at The Acoustic Version (unique idea for a blog actually... if you really like acoustic versions), this time of The Band: Acoustic Version of The Weight

And last but not least from SystemThinker we have a little list of music recommendations and reviews: Music Recommendations: September 12-18, 2010 - Josiah Leming, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Vektor, Hayley Williams

And there you have it... Another classic Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll surely to be nominated for some award... best Carnival of November or something. As usually, the Carnival should return next month, lets hope nothing prevents that from happening again.

If you submitted your work to the carnival, but it wasn't chosen, don't fret. There aren't a lot of standards to be included, except to be about music, but I don't publish blatant advertisements, personal attacks on artists, celebrity gossip, things off topic or things I can't read (sorry, English only). Also, I'd appreciate if you only submit some of your best works, not short, few word posts and try to keep multiple submissions within reason, meaning you can send two or three articles at most, but not like six... if you spam the carnival with entries or with articles off topic you won't be included.

I still appreciate your contribution even if I didn't choose to include it and hope you won't hesitate to submit new work to next month's carnival.
