Features

The Soul of Rock 'n' Roll currently has a few major featured columns: The monthly featured album called "The Rock 'n' Roll Feature" and the monthly blog carnival "The Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll. All posts under those two headings can be found here as will any future featured content the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll publishes.

Carnival of Rock and Roll–January 2010

It's Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll time again... the very first carnival of 2010. This month will be another more mellow carnival (at least compared to come of the massive ones of the past), but I'm not complaining. There were lots of interesting things submitted and I really enjoyed taking a read.

Carnival of Rock and Roll-December 2009

Well last month with the return to regular carnivals, we had the biggest carnival I've ever seen... and this month, perhaps ironically, we have the smallest. In fact, the carnival this month contained so few submissions I thought I forgot to make it available on BlogCarnival.com, but I didn't. I thought maybe there were problems with my carnival email, but there aren't.

Carnival of Rock and Roll-November 2009

Well now that the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll has returned in all it's rockin' glory, it seems about time for the Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll to return from it's dormancy as well. This carnival was definitely an interesting one to sort through though.

Rock & Roll Feature: Dylan Bringing the Controversy All Back Home

This is the fourth in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Lateralus is the Tool

This is the third in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Layla and the Dominos

This is the second in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Soldedad Brothers - Steal Your Soul and Dare Your Spirit to Move

This is the first in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

For the first featured rock and roll album I thought I would start with a relative unknown. The band is the Soledad Brothers, the album Steal Your Soul and Dare Your Spirit to Move.
