Who thinks I need to go to more concerts? I absolutely do... especially when they're as great as the one I went to earlier this month. In early April here in Chicago, I finally got to witness in person the massive awesomeness that is a Queens of the Stone Age live concert.

Anyone who's ever been to a really great rock and roll concert can probably tell you... it's more than “just a concert”. No. the good ones can border on a sort of mystical experience where magical things happen and time seems to stand still, albeit just for a moment... even if it's a sober moment.

Where were you on New Years? Partying it up in some glitzy club? Down in Time Square freezing off various body parts? No no no... a true rock and roller was where I was... At one of 3 (or multiple) Black Keys concerts in Chicago!

What can really be said that hasn't already been said about John Lennon?

Saying that I'm a fan of Pink Floyd and of The Wall doesn't see to really cover exactly how I feel about their work and this particular album. To this day I remember the first time I really listened to it in it's entirety and the mixture of awe, identification and absolute confusion I felt afterward.

Never one to pass up a good concert if I have any choice in the matter, I have once again been attending musical events with vigor. This time it was a band that I've seen a few times before and they've always put on a good, fun, high energy show: Better Than Ezra.
