Reviews

Here at the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll we occasionally review specific products and events. These products might be albums, DVDs, BluRays, Books, or even concert events. All these reviews, including the monthly featured review, "The Rock 'n' Roll Feature" can be found under this heading.

The Rolling Stones A Biggest Bang: A DVD Set Review

Some bands have a serious shortage of concert footage in their catalog while others have a multitude available for their fans. Take the Rolling Stones... they've been performing now for 40+ years, which has resulted in a lot of concert footage, and recently they have made a point to release entire concerts from their recent world tours. Just the other day I got the chance to check out the latest DVD set, The Biggest Bang, from the band of "no farewell tours" and I thought I'd write a review.

Rock & Roll Feature: Live Throws the Copper Away

This is the seventh in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller, so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like, from different genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Buddy Guy and His Sweet Tea

This is the sixth in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller, so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like, from different genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: The Cars New Wave 80s Pop with a Unique Style

This is the fifth in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller, so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like, from different genres every month.

Certain albums just seem to bring about tremendous change in music, only to be designated more as cultural time capsules, dated and cliche after a while, than as groundbreaking as originally thought. For this month's Rock 'n' Roll feature, I believe the album I have chosen is just such an album.

Rock & Roll Feature: Dylan Bringing the Controversy All Back Home

This is the fourth in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Lateralus is the Tool

This is the third in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Layla and the Dominos

This is the second in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

Rock & Roll Feature: Soldedad Brothers - Steal Your Soul and Dare Your Spirit to Move

This is the first in a series of Rock & Roll features I'm writing for this site. I'm a rock and roller and I love blues so this column is a way for me to feature a different album that I like from those genres every month.

For the first featured rock and roll album I thought I would start with a relative unknown. The band is the Soledad Brothers, the album Steal Your Soul and Dare Your Spirit to Move.
