Hey everyone, just thought I'd wish a quick happy Memorial Day.
Although it's often more about the barbecues and parades, let's make sure that we try to remember what Memorial Day is really celebrating: the men and women who have fought and died in service for their country. I like to do that with some music, mainly because I like to do just about everything with some music, and there are plenty of great songs that seem appropriate. I'm partial to songs like "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen for holidays like this... although it's often misinterpreted as being far more patriotic than it really is. I also like John Lennon's "Give Peace a Change", because what greater gift could we really give to those who have died in way than peace.
Whatever you're doing this Memorial Day though, I hope it's a fun one with some great tunes to go along with however you're celebrating.
