Well, 2007 has come and gone and today (or actually tomorrow) we embark on a new year, 2008. Looking back on 2007, there were some incredible rock and roll events: Led Zeppelin reuniting, Radiohead releasing an album basically for free online, and all the rest including the one especially important to me, the birth of the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll website.
Yeah, the site is coming up on it's 1st anniversary and is growing everyday. Thanks to everyone who provided positive feedback, suggested a band (there were some amazing suggestions including a few I haven't gotten around to writing about yet) or contributed to the Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll during this past year. I'm glad people are enjoying the site, I'm enjoying writing for it. Hopefully some of my readers have enjoyed at least a few of my posts and maybe found a new favorite band or album through the site. The new year is going to be an great year for rock and roll and I'm sure there will be plenty of great new bands coming up too so, although my schedule is getting increasingly busy, I don't have plans to stop writing anytime soon.
Yeah, 2008 is already looking to be a exciting time for the music industry so although it's technically not the new year today, lets start it off right. There's lots of rock and roll related events going on here is Chicago for New Year's, so I'm sure there are across the world. Maybe you've found a great concert/party/bar to go to, or just a little blues club for something more subdued, or maybe you're just having a night in with some friends. No matter how you're celebrating, be safe, especially if you're drinking and have fun...Oh, and rock out to some great music while you're at it.
A very Happy New Year's from the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll. Tomorrow will be the first Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll of 2008 so make sure to check it out, should be a good one.
